Value vs effort matrix

Definition: A value versus effort matrix plots ideas on two axes, the value they deliver and the effort they require, to find quick wins and avoid costly low-value work.

The four quadrants are usually labeled quick wins (high value, low effort), big bets (high value, high effort), fill-ins (low value, low effort) and money pits (low value, high effort).

It is a fast, visual way to start a prioritization conversation, though it hides detail that frameworks like RICE make explicit.
