Product-market fit

Definition: Product-market fit is the point at which a product satisfies a strong market demand, so customers buy, use and recommend it with little push.

Signs of product-market fit include strong retention, organic growth through referrals, and customers who would be very disappointed if the product went away. A widely used survey asks exactly that question.

Before product-market fit, the job is learning and iterating. After it, the job shifts towards scaling what works.
