Feature tree

Also known as: Feature hierarchy, product hierarchy

Definition: A feature tree is a hierarchy that breaks a product into areas, features and sub-features, so requests and work can be mapped to the part of the product they affect.

Mapping feedback to a feature tree shows where demand is concentrated and where the product has gaps. It answers questions like 'which area gets the most requests?' without a spreadsheet.

A feature tree also gives product, engineering and go-to-market teams a shared vocabulary for the product.
