Product management glossary

Epic

Definition: An epic is a large body of work that is too big to deliver in one go and is broken down into smaller user stories or tasks.

Epics group related stories under a common goal, such as 'self-service billing'. They help teams track progress on bigger initiatives and keep the roadmap at a readable level of detail.

Above epics, some teams use initiatives or themes to tie work to strategy.
