Customer feedback portal

Also known as: Feature request portal, ideas portal

Definition: A customer feedback portal is a website where customers can submit ideas and feature requests, vote on other people's requests and follow their status.

Portals move feedback out of scattered emails and calls into one place. Voting shows demand, comments add context, and status updates close the loop so customers know they were heard.

Most portals separate public and private feedback, and keep internal discussion hidden from customers. Some are branded to match the company's own site.
